Linda’s Legacy Lives On

Linda Healy’s journey into rescue began with one simple belief  every dog deserves love, dignity, and a second chance.
What started as a small act of compassion soon grew into a life’s mission, rescuing countless German Shepherds from high-kill shelters in Texas, Miami, and across Florida.

Linda opened her home and heart to seniors who had nowhere else to go  the sick, the scared, and the forgotten. She saw their worth when others did not. Dogs like Gigi, who arrived needing urgent medical care; Brody, who was once thought to be at the end of his life but has since amazed everyone with his strength; and Mufasa, a spirited soul still searching for that one special person to give him the stability and love he deserves.

Each dog she saved carried a piece of Linda’s heart, and every success story reflected her unwavering belief that sometimes, love really is enough.

Continuing the Mission

In early 2025, we lost our beloved founder, Linda Healy. Her passing was unexpected, and her absence is felt deeply by everyone whose life she touched. Yet, in true Linda fashion, she left behind a legacy too strong to fade.

Today, Healy Pack Senior GSD Sanctuary continues her mission under the guidance of an extraordinary group of women who share her heart and vision:

  • President: Sandy Vogel

  • Vice President: Anne Long

  • Treasurer: Sharon Bond

Together, with the support of our volunteers, fosters, and donors, the Sanctuary remains a safe haven for senior German Shepherds in need. Our commitment is clear to carry Linda’s torch forward by rescuing dogs from shelters, bringing them to safety, and offering them the second chance they deserve.

Our emotions over these months have ranged from heartbreak to hope, from exhaustion to gratitude. Yet through it all, one truth remains: Healy Pack will endure. Linda’s dream lives on in every rescue, every recovery, and every tail that still wags because someone cared.

To all who have supported us through this transition thank you. Your generosity, whether through food, donations, fostering, or sharing our mission, has given us the strength to continue.

Brody was rescued from high kill MDAS in Miami. A lifetime of neglect has taken a toll of sweet Brody!
Linda always takes the seniors and medical dogs! Brody’s vet appointment is Wednesday. His hip and ears are both severe and will likely require specialist.

Linda’s Celebration of Life

On May 17, 2025, friends, volunteers, and supporters gathered at Veteran’s Park in Gulfport, Florida to celebrate the life of Linda Healy. It was a warm, heartfelt afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and beautiful memories of a woman whose compassion changed countless lives.

Everyone had something kind to say a reflection of Linda’s incredible impact and the love she left behind.

Her spirit continues to guide us every day as we honor her legacy, care for the dogs she loved, and rescue those still waiting for their turn to be saved.
